It started with one small decision.
A few days ago, I looked in the mirror, tried on clothes that didn’t fit, stepped on the scale, and thought, enough is enough.
That morning, I skipped my usual coffee creamer, poured it black, grabbed my weighted vest, and headed out for a 3-mile walk.
And you know what? I’ve done it every day since.

It’s only been several days, but I feel lighter — physically and mentally.
That one choice set off a chain reaction I didn’t see coming.
On today’s walk, I listened to a Mel Robbins podcast episode where she shared three small habits that can change your body, energy, and life:
- Move your body every day — in any way you can.
- Put your phone down for part of the day so you can focus on yourself and the people who matter.
- Focus on your relationships and make time for those you care about.
It struck me that these three habits align perfectly with what I’ve been calling my Positive Trifecta:
- Get moving every day (my walks).
- Add healthy habits, one at a time (black coffee was my start).
- Find something inspiring daily (today’s podcast episode).
These aren’t huge, life-altering leaps. They’re tiny, doable shifts that add up — and they work. You can listen to that full podcast episode here. I think you’ll love it as much as I did.
After that walk today, I came home and got straight to work on my blog and website and actually got things done. I went from “I should do that” to doing it. Feels good. And if you try even one of these habits today, I think you’ll feel it too.
If you’ve been in a slump, try starting with one. One walk. One healthy swap. One piece of daily inspiration.
It’s the smallest actions that create the biggest ripple effect.
